The Best Gift You Can Give a New Mom (Or Yourself)
About The Book
Am I doing something wrong? Is there something wrong with me?
The emotions. The bodily functions (or lack of them). Nobody warns you. Not your mom, your sister, aunts, or friends. Even the obstetrician doesn’t let you in on what’s going to happen with your body after pregnancy. Moms are left to obsess over whether they’re doing something wrong or if something is wrong with them. Plus, care for a newborn? Talk about anxiety!
This isn’t a medical book per se. (Although a B.S.N., R.N. is a co-author.) It’s not a handbook either. It is a candid, straightforward, and often cringy (but funny) tale about the truth of getting back to “normal.” Your normal. A new normal. And it debunks the myth that there is an “easy” return to your pre-pregnancy body. Whatever you do, don’t take celebs’ words for it — they have personal trainers and chefs. Mom friends are nice, but prone to forget the worst and probably don’t want to scare you.
Pregnant for the first time or not your first rodeo, this book tells you what nobody else will.

"This book helped me realize that it’s okay to not bounce back immediately and that everyone’s journey is different. The practical advice and warm, reassuring tone made me feel more at peace with the changes my body is going through. If you're a first-time mom, I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s the kind of comfort and understanding we all need during this crazy, beautiful time in our lives."

“I went into motherhood with a lot of expectations, but nothing could have truly prepared me for how my body would change after giving birth. Stauffer’s book was exactly what I needed—honest, funny, and incredibly relatable. What I loved most is how she didn’t sugarcoat anything. From the unexpected aches and pains to the emotional rollercoaster of trying to feel like "me" again. There were so many moments where I found myself nodding along, thinking, ‘Yes, that’s exactly how I feel!’”

Let’s Talk About Our Experiences. No, Really.
Yes, we pee ourselves when we laugh too hard, burst into tears for no reason, and might never again see the outline of an abdominal muscle, no matter how hard we crunch.
Let’s come together and share successes, discuss struggles, and prepare new mothers for what to expect. Let’s stand up and be proud of our mommy muffin tops and new mommy bodies.
